Alpha Alpha Chapter

Alpha Alpha Chapter was organized at the University of Cincinnati in  Cincinnati, Ohio, on December 20, 1920. Double A Chapter was one of the first African American student organizations on campus, as well the first historically Black fraternity on campus. The chapter was established by Brothers Reginald E. Beamon and M. S. Walton, both of Beta Chapter. The charter members included: Brother Francis Lesley, Charles L. Harris, Clinton Moorman, Robert Pattengall, Wilbur A. Page, Earl J. Moss, H. T. Miller, Richard P. McClain, William E. Watson, and Charles E. Dillard.

In 2020, Double A Chapter will celebrate 100 years: 100 years of Brotherhood, 100 years of service, and 100 years of transforming The University of Cincinnati. Throughout the centennial year, we will honor the generations of Double A brothers’ who have exemplified academic excellence, community engagement, and outstanding achievement in various professions.

Throughout the years, Double A Chapter has lived the National Fraternity’s motto of “First of All, Servants of All, We Shall Transcend All.”
